AI Visionaries and Overflowing Crowds at AI Deep Dive
Watch this video for highlights from Feedzai’s AI Deep Dive at Money20/20 in Las Vegas.
Feedzai curated an all-star AI line-up in Las Vegas on Sunday, in partnership with Money20/20, with an “AI Deep Dive” event that kicked off the annual conference on the future of money.
For the last few months, we’ve been lining up speakers from financial institutions, fintech innovators, academics, and futurists — people who are on the front lines of AI advancements today.
The room for the event fit a thousand people. By the end of the first session, the room was packed with people standing in the aisles. So Money20/20 set up another large room to fit a thousand more, which quickly filled up, and then another. Based on the crowds knocking down the doors, it’s safe to say that AI is having a moment.
One of the speakers was our very own Pedro Bizarro, Feedzai co-founder and Chief Science Officer. He introduced the concept of “machine teaching,” saying: “Many people argue that models are so complex that they’re beyond our comprehension. But the fact is that we need these explanations for compliance reasons, and to help us understand whether the model has biases. And there’s one major trend we’ve been working on at Feedzai that we’re calling ‘machine teaching,’ where we see the algorithm explaining in almost human-like terms what it’s doing, and why. The benefit is transparency. It’s teaching the human how to do a better job.”
The theme of human augmentation was echoed through the six-hour summit. Famed Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said that AI is challenging us to become better. The question that AI leads us to, he said, is, “How can I help humans do more?”
